How it works

Snap it. Style it. Share it.

TinkerShot waits in your menu bar until you need it.

  1. Snap.

Drag over what matters, or pick a window. An image you already have works too.

  2. Style.

A background, room around the edges, soft corners, a shadow. Auto-match takes its colours from your screenshot.

  3. Share.

Copy it and paste it into a pull request, a chat, a doc or a post. At Auto size the pixels stay 1:1, so text stays sharp.

Share it

Looks right wherever you share it.

Auto-match.

A background built from the colours already in your screenshot.

A view over the fjords and fishing villages of Lofoten from Reinebringen, on the default Lagoon gradient, green to blue. The same photo on an Auto-match background: a muted fjord blue taken from the photo’s own colours.

Balance.

Evens out the margins around your content, so the shot sits in the middle.

A loose capture of a merge card: more empty space to the right of and below the card than above and to the left. The same capture with Balance on: the card sits in the middle, with an even margin all round.

Frames.

A Mac window, a phone, a tablet or a laptop. Drawn by the app, light or dark.

Sizes for where it’s going.

Presets.

Save the look you use every day and apply it in one click. Clean comes built in.

FAQ

Questions.

Does TinkerShot upload my screenshots?

No. It has no network access.

Which macOS do I need?

macOS 15 or later.

Is there a subscription?

No. One purchase, $4.99, removes the watermark for good.

Why does it ask for Screen Recording?

macOS requires it to capture the screen. Pasting, opening and dropping images work without it.

What formats does it export?

PNG, at 1×, 2× or 3×.

How is it different from CleanShot X or Xnapper?

CleanShot X does far more capture and annotation. TinkerShot does one job: making a screenshot look good, offline, for one price. See the comparison.
